LET THE COUNTDOWN BEGIN

Nursing school is so crazy!!!!!!! I wish I could blog about my patients at the nursing home, but I signed this HIPPA thing. But I will say, the one thing I love about the nursing home is trying to talk to the spanish old ladies who don't speak any English!  All and all it is pretty exhausting. The teachers are always trying to scare me! But I keep telling myself what soph told me, that it's really not that big a deal. Thursday is supposed to be my service day but yesterday "accidently" forgot to set my alarm and woke up the next day at 2:30! Sleepying in felt amazing... But not so great for the service time or bible studies...

We get to start giving meds next week. YES! no more bed baths! These patients sure do get medicated a lot! It is crazy how drugs are the go to solution! So different from my family of herb takers! Unfortunately its influencing me, I took more than 2 advil last month, but with moms great training felt so guilty, like I was killing my liver! (so  i drank 3 cups of detox tea)!! I had a super annoying cold a couple of weeks ago and my mom walked in the kitchen right as a I was swallowing cold medicine and I thought she was going to cry- all she could talk about was how I was ruining the green beans I just ate. I felt pretty guilty. But cold medicine works way faster than green beans.

Saturday clinicals tomorrow! YIPPEE

rough calculation 9 months and 10 days till graduation!!!!! for life.....no more community college!!!!! I just don't see how some people can go to school for life, I am going stir crazy from all these boring lectures!

Sooo tired!!!! I got a sore throat and do not want to get sick! So mint tea and honey and toy story 3 here I come! We learned how to give enemas in class the other day... Yeah gross. I did not know what an enema was and all week prior to learning the teacher would say things like ok next monday demonstrate enemas... I had a feeling it was something gross by the way her tone of voice changed.....and yes it was.

We also learned how to check peoples glucose levels. Where you have to prick their fingers. It was sooo freaky, we weren't really going to prick each others fingers,, just pretend/demonstrate, but my lab partner is this tough, ex military, pregnant lady, and as she was massaging my finger to get the blood to come to the tip and then she pulled out the needle!!! AHHHHHH. I got so scared and dizzy and red in my face and i pulled my finger back! it was so weird!!
